In Denmark with the main European Certification Bodies

CETPC in DenmarkWe are back on formaldehyde; this time we are in Denmark where we participated in the annual meeting of European certification bodies (TPC) which took place during the days of 22-23 May, at the Danish Technological Institute (DTI) based in Aahrus.

The main European certification bodies of all Europe were present at the CETPC working table (CARB-approved European Third Party Certifiers): Italy, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Spain and Sweden. Representatives of the American organizations CARB (California Air Resources Board) and EPA (Environment Protection Agency) joined the meeting via Skype for the latest updates of the application of formaldehyde limits throughout the United States, which will be published shortly as an amendment by the EPA itself.

During the annual meeting of the CETPCs, the introduction of new formaldehyde emission limits in Germany and the possible consequences for European companies in the wood-manufacturing sector of panels and furniture were discussed.

Further updates regarding the new IOS-MAT-0178 and IOS-MAT-0003 (version 15) were finally presented by IKEA representatives.

Cosmob will have the pleasure of hosting the next CETPC  and SG20 (European working group of notified bodies for the CE marking of wood-based panels) meetings to be held in May 2020.
