FabLab: Gioachino Rossini “revival”

We have accepted a new challenge: recreate the bust of the greatest Italian composer of the first half of the nineteenth century, Gioachino Rossini, an excellence from Pesaro. The project is the result of the collaboration with Rossinèt, a company founded by a group of students from the Liceo Scientifico di Pesaro, with the intention of transforming the famous hat of the composer into a product, depicted in the painting of the “Casa Rossini” museum.

What it is about

In order to celebrate the 150th annuversary of the composer’s death, the Rossinét team decided to enhance the hat by exposing it on a support structure depicting the face of Rossini.

The collaboration with the FabLab Pesaro has made possible the realization of this idea; using the 3D scan, it was possible to digitize the bust of the composer (also exposed at the “Casa Rossini” Museum), and through 3D printing, in PLA bioplastic, it was possible to reproduce a copy with the same features and dimensions.

Rossini’s hat has finally found his ideal “mannequin” and will be exhibited in Pesaro events and festivals dedicated to the composer.

Thanks to the innovative technologies of the FabLab COSMOB it was possible to bring the symbol of Pesaro back to life by creating this important project for the city.
